Overview

About this trek

Langtang is Nepal's secret. Just 60km north of Kathmandu, the Langtang Valley cuts deep into the Tibetan borderlands, offering an intimacy with the Himalayas that busier routes cannot match. The valley was devastated by the 2015 earthquake — rebuilt by its Tamang people with extraordinary resilience. Trekking here is an act of solidarity as much as adventure. You'll move through ancient yak pastures, past Kyanjin Gompa's 1,000-year-old monastery, to glacier viewpoints where the silence is so complete you can hear your own heartbeat. The Langtang Valley trek is the most underrated trek in Nepal — and that is exactly its gift.

Trekker voices

From the trail.

I chose Langtang specifically because I wanted something real, not a tourist conveyor belt. Nima made it extraordinary. He took us to his family's rebuilt home, introduced us to his mother, showed us the memorial stones. It was deeply moving. The trek itself is spectacular — completely underrated. But Nima's presence transformed it into something I still dream about six months later.
